2.新城しんしろへ旅行りょこう1；鳳来山東照宮ほうらいさんとうしょうぐう A trip to Shinshiro 1; Horaisan Toshogu

2024年ねん2月がつの初はじめ頃ごろに、私わたしは愛知県新城市あいちけんしんしろしに旅行りょこうしました。
In early February this year, I traveled to Shinshiro City, Aichi Prefecture.
目的もくてきは、公共交通機関こうきょうこうつうきかんで温泉おんせんに行いき、日常にちじょうから自分自身じぶんじしんを解とき放はなつためです。
My purpose is to go to hot springs by public transportation, and release myself from daily life.
私わたしの計画けいかくでは、まず鳳来寺ほうらいじと鳳来山東照宮ほうらいさんとうしょうぐうに、次つぎに阿寺あでらの七滝ななたきに、最後さいごに夕方遅ゆうがたおそくに旅館りょかん「湯谷温泉ゆやおんせん 湯ゆの風かぜ ＨＡＺＵはず」に着つく予定よていでした。
My plan was to go to the Horaiji Temple and Horaisan Toshogu first, The Seven Falls of Adera second, and finally go to a Japanese style inn “Yuya Onsen Yunokaze HAZUはず (Yuya Hot Springs The Wind of Hot water HAZU)” in the late evening.
名古屋なごやから、私わたしは最初さいしょに豊橋駅とよはしえきに行ききました。
From Nagoya, I went to Toyohashi Station first.
そこでJR東海とうかいの飯田線いいだせんに乗のり換かえました。
There I changed trains to the Iida Line (JR Central).
飯田線いいだせんでは、豊橋とよはしから豊川とよかわでしかICカードが使えません。
On the Iida Line, you can only use your IC card from Toyohashi to Toyokawa.
私わたしはそのことを知しりませんでした。
I didn’t know that.
最初さいしょの目的地もくてきちである本長篠駅ほんながしのえきに着ついてから、私わたしは車掌しゃしょうさんに謝あやまって運賃うんちんの680円えんを払はらいました。
After I got to the first destination (Hon-Nagashino Station), I apologized to the conductor and paid 680 yen as the fare.
私わたしは豊橋駅とよはしえきで切符きっぷを買かうか、移動中いどうちゅうに支払しはらうべきでした。
I should have bought a ticket at Toyohashi Station, or paid while we were moving.
余談よだんですが、JR東海とうかいは2025年ねんの春はるから、ICカードが使つかえる区間くかんを広ひろげるそうです。
By the way, JR Central says that they are going to expand the area where you can use IC cards from Spring 2025.

鳳来寺山行ほうらいさんいきのバスに乗のる前まえに、私わたしはコンビニエンスストアへ歩あるいて昼食ちゅうしょくを買かいに行いきました。
Before I rode on a bus to Mt. Horaiji, I walked to a convenience store to buy my lunch.
2月がつはシーズンオフで、その時ときはどのレストランも開ひらいていませんでした。
February is an off-season and no restaurants were opened then.

アドバイス：いくらか小銭こぜにを、特ときに100円玉えんだまを持もっておくようにしてください。
Advice: Keep some change, especially 100-yen coins.
日本にほんの田舎いなかの中なかには、キャッシュレス決済けっさいが未いまだ珍めずらしい所ところもあります。
In some rural areas of Japan, cashless payments are still uncommon.
鳳来寺山山頂ほうらいさんさんちょうのバス停ていで降おりました。400円えんしました。
I got off at 鳳来寺山山頂ほうらいさんさんちょう (Horaiji-san sanchou, The Summit of Mt. Horaiji) bus stop. It cost 400 yen.

鳳来寺ほうらいじは真言宗、しんごんしゅう五智教団ごちきょうだんの寺てらです。
Horaiji Temple is a temple of Shingon Sect, Gochi Religious Association.
鳳来寺山ほうらいじさんの中腹ちゅうふくにあります。
It’s halfway up Mt. Horaiji.
その火山かざんは名勝めいしょうであり天然記念物てんねんきねんぶつでもあります。
The volcano is both a Meishou (名勝めいしょう, a place of scenic beauty) and a Tennnen Kinennbutsu (天然記念物てんねんきねんぶつ, a natural monument).

展望台てんぼうだいからのパノラマ風景ふうけいです。

鳳来寺本堂ほうらいじほんどう。左右さゆうに鏡かがみの付ついた絵馬えまが掛かけられています。
Horaiji Temple Main Hall. Votive picture tablets of a horse with mirrors are hanging on both sides.

杉すぎや樫かしの古木こぼくに覆おおわれています。
It’s covered with old Japanese cedars and oaks.
森林浴しんりんよくにいい所ところです。
It’s a good place for forest bathing.
愛知県あいちけんの鳥とりである、コノハズクで有名ゆうめいです。
It’s famous for Oriental Scops Owls, Aichi’s Prefectural Bird.

その寺てらは703年ねんに、利修仙人りしゅうせんにんによって設立せつりつされました。
The temple was founded in 703 by Rishu Sennin.
16世紀せいきには、岡崎城主おかざきじょうしゅの松平広忠まつだいらひろただと妻つまである於大おだいの方かたが世継よつぎを得えるためにそこで祈いのりました。
In the 16th century, a lord of Okazaki Castle Matsudaira Hirotada and his wife Odai-No-Kata prayed there for their successor.
彼かれらは息子むすこを授さずかり、その子こは天下てんかを統一とういつして江戸幕府えどばくふの初代将軍しょだいしょうぐんとなった徳川家康とくがわいえやすとなりました。
They got a son and the child became Tokugawa Ieyasu, who unified Japan and became the first shogun of Edo Shogunate.
そのため、彼かれの孫まごの家光いえみつはその山やまに東照宮とうしょうぐうを建たてました。
Therefore, his grandson Iemitsu built the Toshogu Shrine on that mountain.
東照宮とうしょうぐうとは、家康いえやすを祀まつっている神社じんじゃのことです。
Toshogu Shrine is a shinto shrine that enshrines Ieyasu.

栃木県とちぎけんの日光東照宮にっこうとうしょうぐう、静岡県しずおかけんの久能山東照宮くのうざんとうしょうぐう、そして愛知県あいちけんの鳳来山東照宮ほうらいさんとうしょうぐうは三大東照宮さんだいとうしょうぐうです。
Nikko Toshogu Shrine in Tochigi Prefecture, Kunozan Toshogu Shrine in Shizuoka Prefecture, and Horaisan Toshogu Shrine are Three Great Toshogu Shrines.

新城市しんしろしは阿寺あでらの七滝ななたきで有名ゆうめいです。
Shinshiro City is famous for The Seven Falls of Adera (阿寺あでらの七滝ななたき、Adera No Nanataki).
本長篠駅ほんながしのえきのバス停ていに戻もどった後あと、他ほかのバスに乗のろうとしましたが、運転手うんてんしゅから土砂崩どしゃくずれのため、その滝たきまで行いかないと言いわれました。
After I went back to Hon-Nagashino Station Bus Stop, I tried to ride on another bus, but the driver told me that due to mudslides, it won’t go to the falls.
